Poliferno, Ghedi Make The Grade

Named Westfield Senior Scholar-Athletes Of Year

Andrew Poliferno (baseball team) and Tiara Ghedi (competition cheering squad) are the 2010 Westfield State Male and Female Scholar-Athletes of the Year. The awards are given annually to the Westfield senior athletes with the highest cumulative grade point averages.

Cheer Squads Tryouts May 1

Three Practice Sessions Scheduled Prior To Tryouts

Tryouts for the 2010-2011 Westfield State Cheer squads will be held on Saturday, May 1 in the Woodward Center from 1 to 5 p.m. You will need to come to one of the three practices offered prior to the tryouts; it is not necessary to attend more than one unless you would like, as we learn the same material at each:

Wed, April 28, 6 to 8 p.m.
Fri, April 30, 6 to 8 p.m.
Sat, May 1, 11 to 1 p.m.

Cheer Team Runner-up At Nationals

The Westfield State competitive cheerleading squad returned from Canam Nationals in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where it finished as first runner-up in the small coed college division.
