FITCHBURG - The Westfield State women's basketball team clinched a berth in the MASCAC postseason tournament with a 58-47 victory at Fitchburg State in the regular season finale Feb. 20.
The Owls are the No. 6 seed and will play at No. 3 seed Worcester State on Tuesday, Feb. 23. Tip-off is 6:00 p.m.
The Owls withstood a 19-0 run by the Falcons for the big road victory. Westfield led Fitchburg, 31-15, late in the first half. But the Falcons offense clicked for a six-minute span as they went on a 19-0 to take a 34-31 lead early in the second half.
